Jimmy Mack

  Bassist Jimmy Mack has spent a lifetime in the performing arts playing across a large genre of musical styles. In the 1970's and 80's he played with such R&B notables as Sly and the Family Stone, Edwin Star, Marvin Gaye and War. In the 1980's Jimmy also played and recorded with Christian artist Jon Gibson. In the 1990's, Jimmy recorded and toured with Richie Havens.

Other discography credits include Tell a Star on Edwin Star RCA Records; One Night With You with Mary Wilson on CEO Records, and Yo Skridlow from the Paramount motion picture Dr. Detroit.

Jimmy was born in San Diego, California in 1953. In 1988 he moved to Phoenix and immediately started playing with some of the Valley's finest musicians. He's played with Pattie Williams, Jerome Teasly, Michael Reed, Francine Reed, Stan Deveroux and Dave Cook, among others.

In 1992 Jimmy moved to Sedona, Arizona where, between playing national and international gigs with Richie Havens and working with Stanley Jordan, he formed and played locally with Thomas Thomas. Jimmy joined ranks with ABHOF members Hank Tomlin and Bob Blazi (Hank Tomlin Band) in 1999, and from 2000 two 2002 played with ABHOF nominee Tom McMillian and ABHOF member Tommy Dukes (Tommy Dukes Blues Band)
